An alternative, stronger, fencing option to lap panels is highly attractive closeboard (or feather-edge) fencing, which makes use of a series of vertical, overlapping boards secured by rear horizontal wooden rails fixed to supporting posts. Using timber or concrete posts in installation these fences are built bespoke to the site and in-situ, and as such can be tailored for any height or contour requirements to enhance privacy.
If you have an existing fence that you would like repaired, we would be happy to investigate the problem and together determine the best solution. For more information, please see what we offer for repairs and renewals.

Will a closeboard panel fence secure my property?
Closeboard panel fences can be built to a variety of heights; they are highly robust; and their design makes them difficult to climb. As such they are an excellent option for security fencing.
For additional security Polypropylene Prikka Strips can be added over the tops of fences. These highly durable 4m strips are moulded with triple rows of pointed cones, preventing intruders from being able to grasp the fence.
How long will a closeboard panel fence last?
Closeboard fences are excellent low maintenance choices for your fencing. There are heavier duty panel options available for additional weather durability, and there are options to help the fence withstand high winds and reduce the risk of twisting. We would be pleased to discuss your requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
What colours are closeboard panel fences available in?
The timber for a closeboard fence is pressure treated for weather durability and is typically in a brown stain. However, there are many different colours of wood stain available which could be applied, and we would be pleased to discuss options with you.
Why does my closeboard panel fence need to be treated?
Timber is treated to increase its durability and longevity. Timber treatments aid resistance against decay, pests, weather, fire, or general day to day use. The exact type of treatment will vary according to purpose, but timber used for fencing will need a pressure treatment coating to protect against weathering.
Can I add a trellis to the top of a closeboard panel fence?
Yes, timber trellis panels can be added. We would be pleased to discuss options with you.
